If Woody Allen founded a religion, its Torah would read something like The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. At its heart a parody of Intelligent Design, the book playfully denounces evolution while explaining the faith based on the Flying Spaghetti Monster (who guides the world with his "noodly appendages"). The religion features holy days like "Ramendan" and "Pastover," and its chosen people are pirates. Bobby Henderson has written a hilariously intelligent send-up of Intelligent Design, one that needs to be read by every opponent of teaching ID in schools (if only to break the tension).
My next book is Billy Hazelnuts, by Tony Millionaire.
