Returning for its fourth year is my "52 Books, 52 Weeks" series, and once again, my favorite independent bookstore, Atomic Books, is sponsoring my yearly reading initiative.
Before there were blogs, e-mail, and social networking, people scribbled or typed their missives in diaries, journals, letters, and notes. In Mortified, David Nadelberg has collected the most cringe-worthy of these teenage writings, and many hit home.
