Chris Nieratko has penned a memoir, Skinema, in the guise of a series of porn film reviews. These articles were originally written for Vice magazine's "Skinema" column (hence the book's title), and mostly have little to do with the film they are reviewing. Often a film's title or cover will invoke a specific memory, and the Nieratko shares his life in short glimpses. Nieratko is clever, painfully honest, and at times genuinely funny, but the book too often gets bogged down in his braggadocio.
