This Week's Interesting CD Releases (January 22nd, 2008)
2008's first big music release week brings a wealth of music to recommend. Cat Power's second covers album, Jukebox hits the stores tomorrow, as does the latest Drive-By Truckers release (and their first without Jason Isbell), Brighter Than Creation's Dark.
Other releases I can strongly recommend include the Whigs' Mission Control, the Whitsundays' self-titled debut, Times New Viking's Rip It Off, MGMT's Oracular Spectacular, Evangelicals' The Evening Descends, Bodies of Water's Ears Will Pop & Eyes Will Blink, Black Mountain's In the Future, Biirdie's Catherine Avenue, and Barton Carroll's The Lost One.
Super Furry Animals' Hey Venus! finally arrives in CD format after being availably digitally since August. If you love powerpop and haven't already picked it up, it's a must have.
