This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (February 5th, 2008)
Across the Universe is the most hyped DVD release this week. The rock musical featuring classic Beatles tracks may be worth a rental, but my money's going towards a couple of television and music releases.
The television release I plan to purchase this week is the Travel Channel's Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations Collection 2. Bourdain is a pop culture icon, as talented a chef as he is an author and television personality. I applaud him for his honesty and for making television that is actually worth watching.
Music fans can pick up Josh Ritter's Irish concert film In Good Company and Jill Scott's Live in Paris +, but I am most excited by the two-DVD Roxy Music retrospective, The Thrill of It All: A Visual History: 1972-1982.
