This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (April 29th, 2008)
Of the week's theatrical releases, The Golden Compass, the film adaptation of Philip Pullman's novel, has garnered the most hype.
Television fans can catch up with several box sets, including the first three seasons of Lost, the first three seasons of Desperate Housewives, the first six seasons of Scrubs, and the first three seasons of Grey's Anatomy. Other small screen releases this week include the fourth season of Beverly Hills 90210 and the ninth season of Cheers.
King Corn is a documentary film in the vein of Michael Pollan's book, The Omnivore's Dilemma. Much like Pollan's book, the film examines the growing place of corn on our country's (and the world's) diet.
Steve Earle - Live From Austin, TX, the singer-songwriter's 1986 Austin City Limits performance, is the lone music video release I'm picking up.
