This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (May 20th, 2008)

With the Sex and the City movie opening this week in the UK and later this month in the US, it's the perfect time to release Sarah Jessica Parker's cult classic comedy series Square Pegs. Containing all twenty episodes, the DVD release captures the adventures of Patty Greene (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Lauren Hutchinson (Amy Linker) and includes performances by Devo and the Waitresses.

The third season of The Muppet Show is also out this week, The 1978-1979 episodes include guest appearances by Loretta Lynn, Gilda radner, Liberace, Sylvester Stallone, and many other stars. Other television releases include the third season of Charles in Charge, a special edition of the first season of 24, and the fifth season of Penn & Teller's Bullsh*t.

Feature film releases are led by Nicolas Cage in the action flick National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets. Eclipse Series 9 - The Delirious Fictions of William Klein is Criterion's latest release featuring three films by the noted photographer, and is definitely on my list to rent.

The only music DVD I can recommend is Jon Dee Graham: Swept Away, A Rock and Roll Documentary.
