Having read Peter Bagge's Buddy Does Jersey and Buddy Does Seattle collections, I knew I was a fan of his work. Still, I wondered if his storytelling would work in a longer form as opposed to the serialized comics.
Apocalypse Nerd is both incredibly funny and horrifying as two suburban friends learn to live in the wilderness after a nuclear attack, learning about their true natures in the process. Bagge wears his politics on his sleeve in this graphic novel, and has unleashed one of the most interesting books of the year.
