Before I read Che: A Graphic Biography, all I knew about Che Guevera was that he was a staunch Marxist Castro aide who is a popular t-shirt icon.
In Spain Rodriguez & Paul Buhle's graphic biography, Che's life is examined from his early days studying medicine to his last days fighting for revolution in Central and South America. Buhle brings the eye of a historian to his subject, and Rodriguez's artwork is crisp and emotive. I love historical graphic novels, and this is one of the best I have read all year.
