9 Down, 43 To Go "Moresukine" (52 Books, 52 Weeks)

When German cartoonist Dirk Schwieger went to Japan on business, he chose to let the readers of his webcomic recommend outings and then drew the resulting trips. Often reminiscent of Guy Delisle's comic travelogues, Schwieger attacks every expedition with an open mind, whether it is a Tokyo sex hotel or a trip to eat blowfish, and seeing Japanese art and culture through his Western eyes is enlightening. The last part of the book is possibly its best feature, where fellow cartoonists (including James Kochalka) share similar interactions with the Japanese and their culture.

Shaped like a small Moleskine notebook, the book is easy to fit in a pocket and enjoy at your leisure.
