If I had to choose only one deserted island book, it would surely be a collection of short stories.
Harper Perennial is releasing a series of classic short story collections, and I am happy to give away the first six in this giveaway. Each of these volumes contains a story by a contemporary author (Denis Johnson, Simon Van Booy, Alex Burrett, and others) as a bonus.
To enter the contest, leave a comment in this post and name your favorite storyteller (in literature, music, myth, film, or even a friend or family member).
The winner will receive the following six classic short story collections, along with some other book and music surprises:
The Bohemian Girl, by Willa Cather
An Experiment in Misery, by Stephen Crane
A Disgraceful Affair, by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
The Happy Failure, by Herman Melville
The Model Millionaire, by Oscar Wilde
Family Happiness, by Leo Tolstoy
The winner will be chosen randomly at midnight CT Friday evening (May 29th).
