Harvey Pekar almost singlehandedly reintroduced me to comics as an adult. After seeing the 2003 film based on his comics, American Splendor I dove into his books and discovered a love for biographical comics and non-fiction comics in general.
Pekar's latest book, The Beats: A Graphic History, was released in March, and chronicles the literary movement of Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, William S. Burroughs, and others.
Of course, I am also including American Splendor: The Life and Times of Harvey Pekar, which collects the out of print books American Splendor and More American Splendor.
