This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (September 29th, 2009)
The fourth season of How I Met Your Mother is in stores tomorrow, and is undoubtedly the best season yet of this television comedy.
Other television releases this week include the oddly titled Cagney & Lacey: The Menopause Years, CSI NY: The Complete Fifth Season, The Patty Duke Show: Season One, and Life on Mars: The Complete Series.
Feature films of note this week include Away We Go (with John Krasinski of The Office), Steven Soderbergh'sThe Girlfriend Experience (with Sasha Grey), and the animated Monsters vs. Aliens.
Madonna fans can not only pick up her directorial debut, Filth and Wisdom, but also her latest collection of music videos, Celebration: The Video Collection.
In a Dream is a fascinating documentary about Philadelphia artist Isaiah Zagar and his intricate mosaic murals.
Fans of superheroes can pick up the animated Superman/Batman: Public Enemies or Ultraman: The Complete Series, which collects all 39 episodes of the 60's Japanese live-action classic. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Complete Series is also released tomorrow.
Blu-ray releases this week include the French classic Belle de Jour, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth (starring David Bowie), and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
