This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (December 8th, 2009)
The sixth film in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is in stores tomorrow, but of all this week's DVD releases I am hoping Santa brings me the Criterion Collection's 25-DVD AK 100: 25 Films of Akira Kurosawa, which includes four of the acclaimed director's films that have never been released on DVD.
Three documentaries are high on my list: Freedom's Fury, which documents the 1956 Hungarian revolution; Beautiful Losers, the story of an early 1990's NYC art collective; and Wesley Willis's Joy Rides.
The fifth season of Lost is the television highlight of the week.
