This Week's Interesting Music Releases (January 19th, 2010)
Spoon's highly anticipated seventh album Transference hits stores tomorrow.
EELS' End Times is the band's eighth studio album, a sharply written lo-fi effort centered on frontman Mark Everett's divorce.
Two albums by underrated and talented singer-songwriters, Josephine Foster's Graphic as a Star and Barton Carroll's Together You & I, are highly recommended, as is Surfer Blood's Astro Coast.
Miles Davis: The Complete Columbia Album Collection is officially out today in the U.S., a 71-disc (70 CDs and 1 DVD) box set.
Two tribute albums caught my eye this week, Almost You: The Songs of Elvis Costello (featuring Matt Pond PA, Okkervil River, and others), and the Italian compilation Clowns And Jugglers - A Tribute To Syd Barrett (featuring Roses Kings Castles and others).
Vinyl reissues of Heartless Bastards' Stairs and Elevators and The Black Keys: Rubber Factory (a picture disc) are the week's reissue highlights.
