5 Down, 47 To Go "A Very Bad Wizard" (52 Books, 52 Weeks)

A Very Bad Wizard is one of the most thought-provoking books I have read in years. Noted philosopher Tamler Sommers interviews researchers in the field of moral psychology, and though on the surface the premise sounds dry and univiting to the non-philosopher, both Sommers and his subjects are entertaining as well as informative. Moral and ethical dilemmas are examined (political, biological, and even in pop culture) in fascinating detail, I found myself devouring the book in one setting. As interesting as these interviews are, that they inspire us to look at ourselves anew is the book's most important selling point.

My next book is Rasskazy: New Fiction from a New Russia, edited by Mikhail Iossel and Jeff Parker.
