Largehearted WORD Books of the Week - May 19, 2010
In the Largehearted Word series, the staff of Brooklyn's WORD bookstore highlights several new books released this week.
WORD is an independent neighborhood bookstore in Greenpoint, the northernmost neighborhood of Brooklyn, that celebrated its third anniversary this March. Our primary goal is to be whatever our community needs us to be, which currently means carrying a lot of paperback fiction (especially classics), cookbooks, board books, and absurdly cute cards and stationery. In addition, we're fiends for a good event, from the classic author reading and Q&A to potlucks and a basketball league (and anything set in a bar). No need to tell y'all how great this series is, as you've probably seen Gallop! and Swing!, but man. You just have to see this book to believe it. Cannot get enough of Darth Vader in Scanimation.
Viva Vegan!: 200 Authentic and Fabulous Recipes for Latin Food Lovers

This might be the only cookbook that we sold multiple copies of before it was even out! Romero is co-author of the fantastic Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar, so it's no surprise that this book is also doing well.
