This Week's Interesting Music Releases - May 11, 2010

Two of 2010's most anticipated albums are released this week, and both The National's High Violet and CocoRosie's Grey Oceans are worthy of the hype that surrounds them (and highly recommended).

Jack White's side project The Dead Weather also returns this week with its second album , Sea of Cowards.

Kris Kristofferson's Please Don't Tell Me How the Story Ends: The Publishing Demos 1968-72 showcases the singer-songwriter's stripped down demo recordings and emphasizes his songwriting strengths.

Of the new albums released this week, I can definitely also recommend Hosannas' Then & Now & Then, Phosphorescent's Here's To Taking It Easy, and especially the Salteens' latest effort, Moths.

At the top of my shopping list this week is the vinyl reissue of a personal favorite album, The Amps' Pacer (you can never have enough Kim Deal vinyl). Other reissues of note include seven Fela Kuti double album sets.

What new music can you recommend this week? What's on your shopping list?
