This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (May 18, 2010)
Nicolas Roeg's 1971 film Walkabout, the latest movie released by the Criterion Collection, is out on DVD tomorrow.
Criterion Collection: Eclipse 21: Oshima's Outlaw Sixties is also in stores tomorrow, and collects five of Nagisha Oshima's films.
Also out tomorrow is the Japanese horror classic, Gamera: The Giant Monster.
Law & Order: Criminal Intent - The Fifth Year and The Jeff Dunham Show may be the most anticipated television releases this week, but I cannot recommend Breaking Bad: Complete Seasons 1-2 enough, I think Breaking Bad is the best show on television and continues to get better with each season.
Three documentaries stand out this week. Defamation defines anti-Semitism in the world today. American Radical: Trials of Norman Finkelstein profiles the controversial and outspoken political activist. Waiting For Armageddon examines how fundamentalist Christianity shapes American foreign policy.
Movies out on Blu-ray this week include one of my favorite Al Pacino films, Carlito's Way.
