This Week's Interesting Music Releases - June 22, 2010
Nina Nastasia's Outlaster is in stores this week, another strong effort from one of my favorite singer-songwriters.
The first official release week of summer is relatively skimpy, but based on what I have already heard, I can definitely recommend Coliseum's House With A Curse and (surprisingly for me) Robert Pollard's new album, Moses on a Snail.
Smooth Sounds: The Future Hits of Wckr Spgt (mp3) collects tribute songs from the Mountain Goats, Jad Fair, Simon Joyner and other past and present Shrimper Records artists. The CD version of this compilation will be released in July.
Fans of Neutral Milk Hotel will want to pick up the vinyl reissue of Jeff Mangum's Live At Jittery Joes (vinyl reissue) (if they don't have it already).
The week's oddest release is the reissue of Rawhide's Clint Eastwood Sings Cowboy Favorites.
