22 Down, 30 To Go "Lips Unsealed: A Memoir" (52 Books, 52 Weeks)
Belinda Carlisle's new memoir Lips Unsealed fascinates with its stories of the inception of the Go-Go's and its vivid depiction of the Los Angeles music scene of the late '70s and early '80s. Carlisle's account of her own life own life is often just as interesting, from her troubled childhood to drug and alcohol addiction (and eventual sobriety), she holds nothing back. At times the book reads like a typical celebrity memoir, dropping famous names with little effect, but at its core Lips Unsealed is a story of redemption. Needless to say, this is a must-read for Go-Go's fans.
