Stream "Bandwagon" from the 25th Anniversary Edition of R.E.M.'s Fables of the Reconstruction

On July 13th, Capitol is releasing a 25th anniversary edition of R.E.M.'s album, Fables of the Reconstruction. Along with the remastered album, a 14-track CD of bonus material is included as well, with demo recordings of the album's 11 tracks plus three outtakes from the demo recording sessions. "Bandwagon" is one of those outtakes. The single disc vinyl edition contains only the remastered album tracks.

Fables of the Reconstruction was my make up album with R.E.M. As a youngster I became enamored with the band the first time I played the "Radio Free Europe" single, then R.E.M. became my first musical obsession when the Chronic Town EP came out. I remember being disappointed a bit by Murmur and Reckoning, but Fables of the Reconstruction, with its strong southern themes, drew me back into the fold.

"Bandwagon" has been remastered for this release, but can also be found on the band's b-sides and rarities compilation Dead Letter Office (which also contains the 5-track out of print Chronic Town EP, and according to iTunes is the R.E.M. album I most listen to these days).
