43 Down, 9 To Go "Meeks" (52 Books, 52 Weeks)

Julia Holmes' debut novel Meeks is a gloriously imaginative and enjoyable work of dystopian fiction. In Meeks', world bachelors must either find a wife or face the life of drudgery and hard work in the factories or missionary work. Without the proper courting suit, the protagonist Ben's life is in turmoil, as is the life of the revolutionary Meeks in this inventive, lucid, and often harrowing tale.

If you enjoy literary fiction with a dystopian bent, you will love this book.

My next book is Simon Gardenfors' graphic novel 120 Days of Simon.
