This Week's Interesting Music Releases - October 12, 2010
The new Sufjan Stevens album, The Age of Adz is out tomorrow in a week filled with wonderful releases.
The long awaited Antony and the Johnsons' Swanlights and Belle and Sebastian's Write About Love are also in stores this week, and I can also strongly recommend The Black Heart Procession's Blood Bunny / Black Rabbit, Cheyenne Marie Mize's Before Lately, Nels Cline's Dirty Baby, and the Salteens' Grey Eyes.
Christmas releases from the Indigo Girls, Brian Setzer Orchestra, James Brown, Katharine McPhee, and Shelby Lynne, along with Putumayo Presents: World Christmas Party should put you in the holiday mood.
A relatively slow week for reissues brings three Syd Barrett solo albums (Barrett,
Madcap Laughs, and Opel, all remastered with bonus tracks) and two remastered Duran Duran albums (Big Thing and Notorious, each with a CD of bonus material and a live DVD). Three Carissa's Wierd albums are also being reissued on vinyl, Songs About Leaving, Ugly But Honest, You Should Be at Home Here.
