1 Down, 51 To Go "Long, Last, Happy: New and Collected Stories" (52 Books, 52 Weeks)

Barry Hannah has long been one of my favorite writers, and his death last year struck me hard. His recently published posthumous collection, Long, Last, Happy: New and Collected Stories, is a testament to this great American writer's talent.

The four new stories in the collection are outstanding, filled with the dark humor and social commentary that Hannah is known for. Even though I had read all of the remaining stories over the years, reading them again one after the other is a reminder of Barry Hannah's literary legacy.

If you haven't read Barry Hannah before, I strongly recommend Long, Last, Happy: New and Collected Stories. If you have, the four new stories make this book the perfect companion to his previous works.

My next book is Herve Le Tellier's novel Enough About Love.
