51 Down, 1 To Go "Culinary Ephemera: An Illustrated History" (52 Books, 52 Weeks)

Between moving and the holidays, I didn't have time to post the final two books I read in 2010 for the 52 Books, 52 Weeks series, so I will post short reviews today.

Culinary Ephemera: An Illustrated History, collects stunning depictions of culinary images. Food historian William Woys Weaver curated this collection and categorized this artwork from matchbooks, almanacs, advertising and other outlets. The images themselves are reason to pick up this book, but Weaver's documentation of the artwork as well as his explanations of their cultural relevance make the book a perfect gift for literate foodies.

My last 52 Books, 52 Weeks book of 2010 is Patti Smith's memoir Just Kids.
