7 Down, 45 To Go "A Widow's Story" (52 Books, 52 Weeks)

In A Widow's Story, Joyce Carol Oates shares the sudden illness and loss of her husband. Her illustration of her life after her husband dies is one of the most moving and detailed accounts of grief I have ever read, a book that lingers on in your consciousness long after you turn the final page.

A Widow's Story has earned inevitable comparison's to Joan Didion's The Year of Magical Thinking, both books are memorable accounts of suddenly losing a partner.

My next book is Javier Marias' short fiction collection, While the Women Are Sleeping/a>.
