This Week's Interesting Music Releases - February 15th, 2011

A bountiful week of music releases is led by the Drive-By Truckers' Go-Go Boots album as well as their documentary, Secret to a Happy Ending.

PJ Harvey's Let England Shake is my favorite album of the week, her strongest effort in years.

Among the week's other albums, I can strongly recommend Asobi Seksu's Fluorescence, Bright Eyes' The People's Key, The Dears' Degeneration Street, A Hawk and a Hacksaw's Cervantine, Mogwai's Hardcore Will Never die But You Will, Telekinesis's 12 Desperate Straight Lines, The Twilight Singers' Dynamite Steps, and Yuck's self-titled album.

Two imports, The Streets' Computers & Blues (allegedly Mike Skinner's final album under that name) and Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys's Hotel Shampoo are also worth picking up.

The only reissue I can heartily recommend is the vinyl edition of the Drive-By Truckers' classic double album Southern Rock Opera.

Poetry fans can pick up a recording of Theodore Roethke's Words for the Wind: Poems of Theodore Roethke.

What new releases are you picking up this week? What can you recommend? Have I left anything noteworthy off the list?
