This Week's Interesting Music Releases - March 1st, 2011
Three albums have me especially excited this week. Two of the releases are by veteran singer-songwriters, Lucinda Williams' Blessed and Ron Sexsmith's Long Player Late Bloomer, but the release of the week is the The Rural Alberta Advantage's stellar sophomore effort Departing
The Baseball Project's Vol 2: High & Inside is a worthy successor to the band's debut, Volume 1: Frozen Ropes and Dying Quails, and will be loved by indie rockers and baseball fans alike. These are the two best albums about baseball, ever.
I can also strongly recommend Acrylics' Lives and Treasure, Devotchka's 100 Lovers, Dum Dum Girls' He Gets Me High EP, and Middle Brother's self-titled debut (featuring members of Deer Tick, Dawes, and Delta Spirit).
Reissues are highlighted by three Portugal. The Man vinyl editions, American Ghetto, Censored Colors, and Satanic Satanist.
