This Week's Interesting Music Releases - March 8th, 2011

Wye Oak's Civilian is the Baltimore duo's third album and yet another stellar effort.

Other new music I can strongly recommend includes Alexi Murdoch's Towards the Sun, Carol Bui's Red Ship, Exene Cervenka's Excitement of Maybe, the Norwegian Wood soundtrack by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood, Kurt Vile's Smoke Ring for My Halo, and especially Grails' Deep Politics.

Reissues this week are led by a remastered and extended edition of Crass's Penis Envy (an album everyone should own). Also available are a 40th anniversary edition of Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water, which includes a DVD of the duo's 1969 television special as well as a documentary about making the album and new interviews.
