Mister Wonderful collects a series previously serialized in the New York Times Magazine that capture one night in the life of Marshall, a middle-aged divorced man. At only 80 pages the book is brief, but is an emotional rollercoaster as Clowes recounts the adventure of a blind date between two divorced people. The night takes several unexpected and exciting turns, and Clowes shares the events, the dialogue, and Marshall's thoughts in his characteristic narrative style. Most surprisingly, though the book is filled with dark humor and cynicism, Clowes manages to work in an optimistic conclusion. Another excellent work by Daniel Clowes, and highly recommended.
My next book is Tina Fey's book, Bossypants.
