Largehearted Lit with Alina Simone and Wesley Stace

Largehearted Lit is a reading series inspired by this blog's Book Notes feature. Inspired and previously hosted by the talented author Jami Attenberg, the series presents readings by authors featured in the Book Notes series along with musical guests.

The June edition of Largehearted Lit monthly reading is tonight at 7:00 p.m. at WORD bookstore in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood.

This month's reading features two authors who are as talented writing music as prose. This week's readers are Alina Simone, whose essay collection You Must Go and Win is out this week (her new album Make Your Own Danger debuted last week) and Wesley Stace, whose most recent book is Charles Jessold: Considered as a Murderer, who perfoems music under the name John Wesley Harding. Both will read and perform songs to illustrate their readings.

The night will also feature a special musical guest.

The event starts at 7:00 on Wednesday, June 8th, at WORD Brooklyn. There will be Doukhobour baked treats provided by The Brooklyn Baker and wine.
