Cat Rackham Loses It!
by Steve Wolfhard
This comic by Koyama Press melds the worlds to underground comix with today's more art-comics inclined (as most of their publications do), with great results. Cat Rackham is a depressed cat living in the wild and is too neurotic for his instincts to help him.
by Gary Phillips / Brian Hurtt
The newest installment in the far too overlooked Vertigo Crime series deals with race and violence - Hip hop clubs, gangstas, undercover cops, and Hollywood celebrities are the setting and characters at the scene of a racially motivated police-shooting which yields unexpected results. Cowboys is an intense hip-hop crime graphic novel.
by Robert Venditti / Mike Huddleston
An expert in viral study is at the heart of a large conspiracy when she is blamed for the murder of her partner. Of course, as is the case with conspiracies, there is far more going on than just murder, and Dr. Regan must not only save herself but she must also help save America by exposing the deadly plot before things go, er, viral.
by Chris Eliopoulos
Oscar has monsters in his basement, and they want to come up an party. Elio's artwork is always a delight, and this comic is as much fun as a Monster Party.
by Michael DeForge (editor) / Annie Koyama (editor)
This is a beautiful anthology of forest-themed comic stories. It features work by some of my favorite cartoonists like T. Edward Bak, Derek M. Ballard, Chris 'Elio' Eliopoulos, Hellen Jo, Joseph Lambert, Jon Vermilyea, Angie Wang, Dan Zettwoch and many more.
