This Week's Interesting Music Releases - July 26th, 2011

R.E.M.'s Songs for a Green World captures a 1989 live performance by the band from its Green world tour.

Mid-summer usually features shorter release lists, and that is definitely true this week. Still, I can strongly recommend Dex Romweber Duo's Is That You In The Blue?, Fair Ohs' Everything Is Dancing, Little Dragon's Ritual Union, Locksley's self-titled album, and Polvo's new single Heavy Detour.

The string of remastered Paul McCartney solo albums continues with his soundtrack to the 1966 film The Family Way. Other reissues include a remastered edition of Peter Murphy's solo debut, Should the World Fail to Fall Apart and five remastered Queen albums (A Day at the Races, Night at the Opera, Queen, Queen II, and Sheer Heart Attack).

What new releases are you picking up this week? What can you recommend? Have I left anything noteworthy off the list?
