This Week's Interesting Music Releases - August 2, 2011
A deluxe edition of The Arcade Fire's The Suburbs is in stores tomorrow, with two bonus tracks and a DVD with the Spike Jonze short film Scenes from the Suburbs, the documentary Behind the Scenes from the Suburbs, and the official music video for "The Suburbs."
The dog days of summer aren't known for big music release weeks. Still, I can strongly recommend Collections of Colonies of Bees' Giving, Fruit Bats' Tripper, Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter's Marble Son, and Richard Buckner's Our Blood.
Also in stores this week are the Drive-By Truckers' Ugly Buildings, Whores & Politicians: Greatest Hits 1998-2009 and the new Fountains of Wayne album Sky Full of Holes
A remastered edition of Archers Of Loaf's Icky Mettle, which comes with a CD of bonus material, is the week's reissue highlight.
