This Week's Interesting DVD Releases - April 10th, 2012
In anticipation of Tim Burton's Dark Shadows film adaptation, many iterations of the television show are out on DVD this week. Most impressive is the 131-disc limited edition Dark Shadows: The Complete Original Series, which is packaged in a small coffin.
Other television titles include Logan's Run: Complete Series, Night Gallery: Season Three, Doctor Who: Carnival of Monsters (Special Edition), and Doctor Who: The Daemons.
Among the documentaries are Werner Herzog's Into the Abyss, which explores a Texas triple homicide case; Miss Representation, a look at how mainstream media portrays women; and When the Drum is Beating, a portrait of modern Haiti and the band Septentrional.
Available on Blu-ray are A Streetcar Named Desire and and the restored edition of A Trip to the Moon.
Last but not least, Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould is the music film I most anticipate watching.
