In the weekly Atomic Books Comics Preview, Benn Ray highlights notable new comics and graphic novels.

Benn Ray is the owner of Atomic Books, an independent bookstore in Baltimore. The Mobtown Shank is his blog, and his comic Said What? is syndicated weekly in the Baltimore Sun's B-Paper.

Atomic Books has been named one of Bizarre Magazine's 51 geekiest places on the planet, as well as one of Flavorwire's 10 greatest comic and graphic novel stores in America.

True Swamp: Choose Your Poison

True Swamp: Choose Your Poison
by Jon Lewis

Walt Kelly was the first to prove that a swamp can be a fertile ground for comics. Jon Lewis' surprisingly complex True Swamp follows in that vein. This shiny new hardcover collects, on the event of its 20th anniversary, the first story arc of the cult series - a series that is rich in poetic adventure.

Glitter Kiss

Glitter Kiss
by Adrianne Ambrose / Monica Gallagher

Monica Gallagher's artwork brings to charismatic life Adrianne Ambrose's magical romance tale of responsibility.

Weird #2

Weird #2
by Noel Freibert (editor)

The second issue of Noel's anti-magazine is a hand-crafted comics collection featuring work by Max Mose, Leon Sadler, Jon Chandler, Ben Steigler and many more. Weird is art house meets underground.

Weird Horrors And Daring Adventures: The Joe Kubert Archives Volume 1

Weird Horrors And Daring Adventures: The Joe Kubert Archives Volume 1
by Joe Kubert / Bill Schelly (editor)

This gorgeous Fantagraphics hardcover collects comics master Kubert's early crime and horror work. The stories here are pre-Code - which means they are extra awesome (in that they are uncensored)!

TITLE

Why Is My Easy Easy Life So Hard?
by Dina Kelberman

This beatifully executed booklet by Important Comics' Dina Kelberman is an utterly charming take on a traditional narrative. Kelberman's unique page style has lended well to one page strips, but here she cleverly strings it together into a larger narrative. Risograph printed in 2 colors.
