Shorties (David Carr, Cocktails Named After Musicians, and more)

Journalist David Carr, whose book Night of the Gun is one of my favorite memoirs, passed away yesterday.

San Francisco's renovated Swedish American Music Hall will feature drinks named after musical acts.

"The Bon Vivants, who run the bar Trick Dog, have been tapped to pour the drinks, serving up cocktails like the "John Darnielle 2009" (Jameson, Meyer lemon, vanilla, bitters) and "Rilo Kiley 2004" (Deep Eddy vodka, apple, lime). "
