In the weekly Atomic Books Comics Preview, Benn Ray highlights notable new comics and graphic novels.
Atomic Books has been named one of BuzzFeed's Great American Bookstores, as well as one of Flavorwire's 10 greatest comic and graphic novel stores in America.
by Michael Hacker
It's taken this collection of enjoyably disturbing gag strips 4 years to make its way from Australia to me, but it was worth the journey. "Mikes" is about 2 parts of the same decapitated chicken, "How To Feed A Unicorn" illustrates the dangers of feeding a unicorn, we also have butt-sniffing dogs, decaying skulls and a young man who watches so much TV, his eyes abandon him.
Pulp Macabre: The Art of Lee Brown Coye's Final and Darkest Era
by Mike Hunchback / Caleb Braaten (Editors)
Explore the dark horror art of an obscure 20th century master in this revealing hardcover look at the work from the last years of his life.
by Benn Ray (editor) / Ben Claassen III (designer)
This Saturday (May 2) is Free Comic Book Day. So at participating stores throughout the country, you can go to comic book stores and choose from 50 different free "official" Free Comic Book Day releases.
