Atomic Books Comics Preview - June 10, 2016

In the weekly Atomic Books Comics Preview, Benn Ray highlights notable new comics, graphic novels, and books.

Benn Ray is the owner of Atomic Books, an independent bookstore in Baltimore. He also runs the Mutant Funnies Tumblr.

Atomic Books has been named one of BuzzFeed's Great American Bookstores, as well as one of Flavorwire's 10 greatest comic and graphic novel stores in America.

The Black Dahlia

The Black Dahlia
by James Ellroy / David Fincher / Matz / Miles Hyman

Filmmaker Fincher teams up with Matz and Hyman to turn James Ellroy's 1940s true crime murder mystery into a gorgeous, full color, graphic novel.

I Feel Weird

I Feel Weird
by Haleigh Buck

Haleigh was a beloved bookseller at Atomic Books for a couple years. And then she disappeared. I Feel Weird explains what she was going through. Oh yeah, and she also draws me looking like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. Whadda jerk.

Island #8

Island #8
by Brandon Graham / Michael Deforge / Simon Roy

This issue of the sci-fi anthology comic features an awesome new story by comics genius Michael DeForge.

See You At The Buck

See You At The Buck
by Rob Brulinski

This photo zine by Brulinski focuses on a demolition derby in Quarryville, PA. If you've not experienced the world automotive entertainment, Brulinski's awesome photography is the next best thing - only without you getting mussed by the blood and the blood and the beer.
