As our long national nightmare begins, so too does the resistance. This free, full-color, 40-page newspaper is being distributed starting today at roughly 70 some bookstores and comic shops throughout the country. It's a collection of comics and art by mostly female artists put together out of roughly 1000 submissions. Contributors include Sue Coe, Megan Kelso, Alison Bechdel, Dame Darcy, MariNaomi, Carol Lay, Lauren Weinstein, Miss Lasko-Gross, Sara Varon, Lynda Barry, and many more. At this point you're either with us or against us, and our side has all the best cartoonists.
Dept H Volume 1: Pressure
by Matt Kindt
It's the collected first volume of Kindt's deep-sea research station murder mystery. Dept H (depth, geddit?) is, as one expects from Kindt, a both unique and compelling read.
by Rachel Avallone
This zine is an exploration of dumpsters and loneliness. When she moved from Baltimore to Portland, Rachel began to realize her feelings of isolation made her feel like she was in a dumpster. So friends sent her pictures of dumpsters, which she redraws here, and their thoughts if isolation, which she also includes.
Goddamned Volume 1: The Flood
by Jason Aaron / R. M. Guera
Humankind is on the verge of its first apocalypse. The world is a cruel and wicked place, and murder and destruction rule a land populated by prehistoric monsters and blood-thirsty marauders. And things are about to get Biblical.
