I Love This Part
by Tillie Walden
Walden tells a universal love story by focusing on two small town school girls. She perfectly captures the hugeness and fragility of young love developing. You'll fall in love with this book.
Mechaboys
by James Kochalka
Mechaboys feels like the return of an old friend with Kochalka delivering his first book for older readers in quite a while. Mechaboys reads like the Linklater movie Dazed & Confused mixed with a garage-built robot battle suit. Pure Kochalka magic!
No Better Words
by Carolyn Nowak
Nowak tells a charming, beautifully illustrated ADULTS ONLY story about desire, housemates, and hooking up.
Port Of Earth Volume 1

The concept behind Port of Earth is so spot-on that it also feels pretty bleak. Our first alien contact basically wants to use the Earth as a gas station. And the benefits of that arrangement (draining our resources in exchange for alien technology) go to the 1% while the 99% continue to struggle. Meanwhile, every so often, a murderous alien gets loose and runs amok, and it's up to security agents who are being filmed for a reality TV show to deal with the menace without creating an intergalactic incident. You'll read Port of Earth and say to yourself, "Yup, that's probably how it's gonna go." In a word, Port of Earth is ingenious.
