This Week's Interesting CD Releases (February 12th, 2008)

Cinnamon Girl: Women Artists Cover Neil Young for Charity is my personal favorite release of the week for the following three reasons: I am a huge Neil Young fan; women with guitars make me weak; and all proceeds from the album go toward a great cause, Casting for Recovery, a national non-profit support and educational program for women who have or have had breast cancer. Stream some of the tracks at the album's MySpace page.

Here is the full tracklisting for the double album:

British Sea Power returns with Do You Like Rock Music?, its most accessible album yet. Robert Pollard fans can pick up his latest album, Superman Was a Rocker. Look Mexico releases a collection of two EPs and b-sides, The Crucial Collection

Interesting reissues include three discs by Athens' Japancakes: Down the Elements, If I Could See Dallas and Japancakes: The Sleepy Strange

What new releases you picking up this week? What can you recommend? Have I left anything worthwhile off the list?
