31 Down, 21 To Go "Armegeddon in Retrospect" (52 Books, 52 Weeks)

Armegeddon in Retrospect collects twelve unpublished essays and stories by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., and was published last year on the first anniversary of his death. With the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan continuing, the world wide financial meltdown, the satire and wisdom of the author remains relevant. I am a lifelong Vonnegut fan. Reading Cat's Cradle in high school introduced me to one of my first true literary loves. Many of these stories are like visiting an old friend, possibly Vonnegut used them as foundations for other works, but that familiarity made me smile instead of wince. Every Vonnegut fan should read this book.
