This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (March 9, 2010)
Last night Precious won Oscars for best supporting actress (Mo'Nique) and best adapted screenplay, and the film (based on Sapphire's novel Push) is at the top of my rental list.
Other theatrical releases in stores tomorrow include George Clooney's Up in the Air and one of last year's most anticipated film sequels, Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day
Michael Moore's latest documentary, Capitalism: A Love Story, explores the intersection of capitalism and democracy.
Television fans will be a bit disappointed with the week's releases, except my mom, who loved the kinder, gentler Michael Chiklis in the first season of The Commish.
Fans of television's The Wire might be interested in The Avon Barksdale Story: Legends of the Unwired in which the actor who portrayed the Baltimore drug dealer interviews the real-life inspiration for the character.
Beef up your Blu-ray film collection this week with the Who's 1979 documentary The Kids Are Alright.
