This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (May 4, 2010)
With Iron Man 2 in theaters on Friday, you can catch up on the superhero's story with Iron Man: The Complete Animated Series and first season of the cartoon Iron Man: Armored Adventures.
Gregory Doran's Hamlet features a compelling performance by former Dr. Who David Tennant.
Speaking of Dr. Who, three episodes are released on DVD this week, The Curse of Peladon (Story 61), The Masque of Mandragora (Story 86), and The Monster of Peladon (Story 73).
Other television DVDs in stores tomorrow include Courtney Cox in the second season of Dirt and Saturday Morning Cartoons: 1980s, Vol. 1 (which features an animated Mr. T on the cover).
A 45th anniversary edition of Doctor Zhivago is released tomorrow in widescreen and Blu-ray editions.
Two documentaries are particularly appealing this week. Velvet Underground: Vanishing Point profiles the seminal band, and Mine examines the fates of pets after Hurricane Katrina.
Beef up your Blu-ray library with Escape from L.A., The Notebook, and Saving Private Ryan.
