This Week's Interesting Music Releases - May 4, 2010
Heaven Is Whenever, the Hold Steady's fifth album, is in stores tomorrow.
The Hold Steady's Heaven Is Whenever isn't the only standout release this week. New albums by the New Pornographers (Together) and Josh Ritter (So Runs the World Away) are as musically wonderful as they are hotly anticipated.
The Shondes' My Dear One once again mixes the band's political message with hook-filled anthemic indie rock to amazing results.
Other new releases I can definitely recommend include The Fall's Your Future Our Clutter, The Joy Formidable's Balloon Called Moaning, and Whitsundays' Saul.
Among the week's reissues, I am most tempted by the three Kinks import double-LP vinyl offerings, Something Else, Arthur, and Village Green Preservation Society.
