This Week's Interesting DVD Releases - July 20, 2010
Two foreign language films are far and away my favorites among this week's DVD releases. Bong Joon-ho's Mother is a dark thriller filled with surprising comic moments. I just ordered The Bong Joon-ho Collection to check out more of this Korean director's films.
Entre Nos is a heartfelt look at immigration.
The Runaways biopic is also out this week.
Two compelling documentaries are on store shelves this week, Prodigal Sons and The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers.
Black Narcissus and The Red Shoes are both released with a bevy of extras by the Criterion Collection this week. A tip...Barnes and Noble has all Criterion Collection films (including Blu-rays and box sets) on sale for half of retail price through the end of July.
The only new television release I have queued up is the first season of the BBC's supernatural series Being Human.
New Blu-ray editions of the western Tin Man and Margot are available tomorrow.
