This Week's Interesting DVD Releases - August 10, 2010

Max Headroom: The Complete Series, a 5-DVD collection of the futuristic and well ahead of its time television show, is on store shelves tomorrow.

Other television releases this week include final season of Numb3rs.

Of the week's theatrical releases, I can most recommend the immigration drama Welcome.

New documentaries worth checking out this week include Tapped, which examines the bottled water industry (and its effects on the environment) and The Lottery, which explores the need for education reform in the United States.

The Criterion Collection releases two Terry Zwigoff documentaries, Louie Bluie, a look at the blues musician and visual artist Howard "Louie Bluie" Armstrong, and Crumb, which profiles the legendary cartoonist R. Crumb.

Animal Collective's "visual album" Oddsac finally sees its DVD release tomorrow.

National Lampoon's European Vacation and Vacation are among the week's Blu-ray releases.

What new releases are you picking up or adding to your Netflix queue this week?
