This Week's Interesting DVD Releases - May 3rd, 2011
The film adaptation of The Green Hornet is in stores tomorrow and is one of the two theatrical releases I am most looking forward to this week along with the Danish gangster comedy A Somewhat Gentle Man.
The Criterion Collection releases two Blu-ray editions tomorrow, Ingmar Bergman's Smiles of a Summer Night and Catherine Breillat's Fat Girl. Also out on Blu-ray tomorrow is From Dusk Till Dawn.
Two documentaries stand out this week. The Promise: The Making Of Darkness On The Edge Of Town, which captures the recording of the Bruce Springsteen album, and Sync or Swim, a film about synchronized swimming.
The third season of the BBC supernatural series Being Human, the first season of Eddie Murphy's claymation comedy The PJs, and Melrose Place: Sixth Season V.1 are the week's television highlights.
